An Aqara hub is required for the sensor to work with Apple HomeKit. Together with other Aqara smart accessories, different scenes can be created. The lights can be automatically switched on when a door or window is opened.

The Aqara door and window sensor detects the opening status of doors or windows via the distance between sensor and magnet. It consumes little energy and its button battery lasts for over 2 years.
